Doggy Daycation

Give our shelter dogs the break they deserve! Volunteers can take adoptable pups out for a few hours or a full day of adventure.

About the Program

What is Doggy Daycation?
Doggy Daycation is a new volunteer program at Livingston County Humane Society that allows approved volunteers to take shelter dogs out of the kennel for a few hours or a full day. Whether it’s a walk at the park, a car ride, or lounging on the couch, these day trips give dogs a chance to relax, socialize, and show off their personalities—all while making wonderful memories.

Why It Matters

  • Reduces kennel stress and anxiety
  • Helps dogs practice good manners in real-world settings
  • Increases adoption chances by showcasing dogs to new people
  • Builds strong connections between LCHS, volunteers, and the community

“I can’t say enough how each of these dogs have showed a different aspect of their personalities at our house. Some will just take some time and love for them to show you all they have to give!– Kim, LCHS Volunteer
